The Accounts Payable Lead will be responsible of all Accounts Payable activities for Europe in 23 countries. Oversees the end to end spectrum of the Accounts Payable process, supporting more than 50 legal entities.

The person is the head of an organization of about 80 people and supervises the following areas:

Invoice processing

Issue resolution

Vendor management

Employee Travel & Entertainment disbursement

The AP Lead ensures that the AP activities are performed properly. The person is also responsible for establishing, reporting and continuously improving the operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role also requires periodic travel.

Responsible for standardization of the various AP processes of the various countries

Direct lead of a team of 5 AP Team Leaders, indirectly supervising all together 80 people

Develop and execute regional Accounts Payable strategy that is aligned with the global strategy

Identify and implement process improvement opportunities

Identify key focus areas for the short term that supports the longer term goals despite the competing priorities, crisis situations

Adopts to changes quickly and manages the changes within the organization

Establish great relationships and manage a variety of stakeholders such as country finance leads, procurement heads and the global Shared Service Center leadership team.

Identify escalating issues early and establish necessary actions required and manage crisis situations personally

Participate actively in internal and external audits

Work closely with General Accounting, Indirect Tax and Procurement teams to resolve issues

Ensure country specific process documentations are complete and of great quality, always current, and stored appropriately

Participate actively in the Leadership of the Shared Service Center

Monitor performance and identify training needs

Continuously develop organization to become a high performance team

Perform various assignments in flexible manner (including cross geographic or cross functional tasks that might arise as business evolves) based on the request of the Finance Shared Service Center Lead

Here are the minimum qualifications and essential functions for this position:

10 years of experience of which minimum of 3 years should be spent as regional head of Accounts Payable or Procure to Pay organization supervising a team of 60 or more, preferably in multinational environment

The person should be passionate about team management and be able to lead and inspire by the personal example

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Economy/Finance and Accountancy

Knowledge of Accounts Payable, purchasing, and procurement processes as well as accounting principles

Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required

Outstanding problem solving skills

Strong analytical and strategic thinking, effective decision making skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
