API is seeking a full-time Resident Coordinator (RC) for its study abroad and internship programmes in Dublin for January – August 13th 2018. Working from home, the role will consist of office based administrative duties as well as time out of the office meeting students on campus, at their accommodation and at cultural events and excursions.
Under general direction the successful candidate will perform administrative functions to include assisting with planning, organising, and directing the day to day operations of the study abroad and internship programmes in Dublin. In addition, the Resident Coordinator will act as a cultural coach for the students by organising and attending excursions and cultural activities and will help students in their cultural adaptation.
She or he will report to and assist both the Internship and the Study Abroad Directors in Dublin.
This position has three areas of focus and responsibility.
The primary focus of this position will be to assist with our international internship programme in Dublin. The RC will assist the Internship Director with developing and maintaining relationships with potential internship hosts and employers in Dublin and in identifying and securing suitable internship placements.
S/he will manage student, parent, university and employer expectations while working to ensure high levels of customer service are maintained. S/he will assist with finding suitable housing accommodation for students, assist with preparation and running of student orientations, and plan and accompany students on cultural events and excursions. The Resident Coordinator will share 24-hour emergency duties with other in-country API team members. S/he will provide support for the development of custom internship program proposals from U.S. partner universities.
Direct Enrolment Study Abroad
The Resident Coordinator will assist in handling academic and non-academic aspects of the study abroad programme including housing, meals, activities and excursions. She or he must meet frequently with API´s students to evaluate their goals, progress, and adjustment to life and study in a foreign culture.
The candidate will assist the Resident Director in planning customized programs to be run in March 2018.
This includes researching and developing possible itineraries, pricing of transportation, hotels, meals and activities, identifying and booking guest lecturers and classroom space and other requests from the CP division. S/he will assist with the development of proposals and with on-site logistics when CPs are run in the Dublin Region.
