Constellium Valais, main employer in Central Valais, is composed by 3 sites (Sierre, Chippis & Steg), 3 manufacturing processes (extrusion, rolling and casting) and 2 BU’s (AS&I & A&T).

For our site in Sierre, called the City of Sun, we are looking for a

Procurement Manager

AS&I division

Primary Purpose :

Strategic decision from central Procurement team to integrate spare parts buying into procurement, in order to achieve savings target and to coordinate inside the Group.

Key accountabilities :

Overall activities :

  • Supply goods and services at the right quality, costs and timing
  • Strong team work with internal customer in order to achieve sustainable costs reductions
  • Apply central procurement policy, group, local and SOX rules
  • Put in place action plans with our suppliers to continuously improve EHS

Detailed activities

  • Analyse and process purchase orders
  • Negotiate the commercial conditions (price, terms of payment)
  • Handle and negotiate CAPEX purchases
  • Launch and follow request for proposal
  • Analyse and challenge the offers
  • Control the commercial conditions before placing any order
  • Check the invoice and the orders
  • Track and follow the supplier’s report of non-conformity
  • Inform the requester and present a detailed comparison of the different offers
  • Assist the requesters by choosing the right suppliers, goods or services
  • Negotiate and establish annual contracts
  • Negotiate the best commercial conditions for any supplier, based on the procurement process
  • Systematically report the savings on a monthly basis
  • Update and analyse e-procurement
  • Create and maintain the spare-parts database in close collaboration with the requesters
  • Active participation in streamlining and simplifying the process in order to reduce administrative costs of the department
  • Replacement of the colleague in case of absence

Leadership competencies, technical skills requirement :

  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in industrial procurement
  • Technical (ideally engineer) and commercial (master in procurement) education
  • Negotiations skills
  • Teamwork spirit. Flexibility and adaptability
  • Communication skills. Inform key stakeholders about the “who and what”. Ability to adapt communication towards central and local teams and to interact with other plants
  • Good technical skills and ability to understand requesters needs
  • French and / or German mother tongue and good mastering of the second language
  • English business level
  • SAP MM module is an asset

Complexity :

  • Propose innovative TCO (total cost of ownership) solutions / new suppliers to reduce costs
  • Increase of automatization rate on the operations
  • Make and follow up all contracts
  • Improve working capital (payment terms, stock)
  • Reduce number of suppliers
  • Handle non conformity and find solutions with internal customers and suppliers
  • More than 10’000 references to manage and several hundred of suppliers
