Your contribution:

You will be responsible for the A to Z of sales development and the commercial success of our polymers sales in the region. The goal will be to position Sasol as a leading supplier of commodity polyethylene in the flexible packaging industry. Active relationship management will be an integral part of your role. Maintaining a keen presence, you will nurture and develop business relationships with key accounts and systematically establish new contacts with key customers. Identifying and embracing opportunities – this is the motto that you’ll consistently pursue. You’ll build the foundations for this by carrying out well-founded market and competition analysis, and through proactive exchanges with clients and colleagues. With strategic vision and tactical nouse, you’ll succeed in gaining new business that takes us forward sustainably. You’ll develop convincing value propositions, sales materials and campaigns, and actively support customers in succeeding with our products. Furthermore, after contracts have been signed you’ll always stay “on the ball” and ensure that customers are completely satisfied with our products and services. You’ll conclude price and volume agreements, compile demand forecasts and ensure that orders are processed reliably in close coordination with Supply Chain, Operations and Technical Services. And should there happen to be any problems, you’ll first find a quick solution for our customers and secondly, ensure that the cause is found and permanently rectified. You can be based at any of our Northern European offices, preferably in Hamburg.

Your strengths:

  • Min. 5 years’ experience in an industrial/chemical B2B sales and marketing environment and proven ability to establish and maintain long-standing customer relationships
  • Previous experience in commodity polymers and/or an established network in the packaging/polyethylene industry would be an advantage
  • Highly creative go-getter and excellent networker with cross-cultural awareness and the ability to drive business forward
  • Business acumen, entrepreneurial thinking and customer focus
  • Strong commercial negotiation and communication skills in English and German; ideally also in an additional European language
