Reporting to the Business Manager of PS, as our Scientific Communications Support Specialist, you will support PS with selected communication activities specifically relating to leadership communications within the company and to the public.

You will partner with the entire PS leadership team, the PS Global Office (incl. the Scientific Communication Leader), as well as the global communication groups (i.e. pRED Communications, Group Communications) to facilitate and execute the day to day communications and actively contribute to the development and culture of the PS organization.

You will be assessing, designing and delivering on identified internal and external communication needs through classic communications vehicles, as well as leveraging innovative communication methodologies, channels and tools.

Responsibilities, Duties & Main tasks:

  • Support all kinds of communications from the Head of PS and the PS Global Office intended for PS/ pRED/ Roche internally (e.g., print, mail, video, intranet, News flow) and externally, i.e. in public media via print, TV, radio, video, internet, social media
  • Support overall communications needs on key projects (R&D, projects, people topics, events, etc.) by authoring / editing/ publishing articles, preparation of presentation material, assistance in and preparation for public interviews
  • Assist PS Project Leaders in their regular correspondence with Health Authorities (EMA, FDA, etc.)
  • Support planning and execution of PS functional, internal scientific events, including development of associated communications materials
  • Support Global Office initiatives as an integrated member of the team, taking on tasks within the group, coordinating global initiatives and workstreams

    You bring the following qualifications and skills:

    • A scientific education (master’s degree or preferably PhD degree) with solid knowledge of Pharma industry R&D processes, combined with a strong communications/ journalistic background i s required.
    • Ideally you will have worked several years in a communications related field, have gained experience in Public Relations dealing with topics of high sensitivity combined with a proven ability in conducting self-dependently investigative research on various topics using scientific literature databases and public media
    • You have a passion for science and an excellent ability to translate complex matters into simple and clear messages and to convey them via appropriate visualization (incl. social media tools)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and a good team player with dedication in a global, fast paced environment; ability to manage multiple priorities at one time, meet tight deadlines and at the same time react flexibly to changes in plans and priorities
    • Excellent knowledge in MS Office (word, excel, power point), Google applications (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Sheet, Doc), experience and creativity in layout, graphic design (for presentations and documents), using e.g. Photoshop; excellent command of English both written and verbally is must, fluency in German is a big benefit.
