KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Export shipment process (road; air and sea) – building and creating of shipments; coordinate relevant administration & operational activities; check and sign-off invoices before submission to customs etc.
  • Generate and update reports (i.e. Monthly KPA, Supply Chain, inflow/outflow reports)
  • Investigate and resolve all DC queries relating to Exports to the countries
  • Perform audits on SARS bond books during stock takes at Durban DC and follow up on actions required
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements from SARS and all origin and destination countries
  • Identify operational issues and resolve relevant escalations
  • Lead the performance; growth and development of team members
  • Build and maintain relationships with stake holders to ensure fluency in logistics
  • Compile country specific SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) for approval & ensure agreed SLA’s are maintained and adhered to by all service providers
  • Optimise Exports processes and systems
  • Ad hoc responsibilities & involvement with projects as required

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant degree or diploma will be an advantage
  • 3+ years’ Import/Export experience, preferably in a retail environment
  • Knowledge of the Customs Acts and regulations pertaining to exports in African countries
  • Understanding of Bond Store legislation in South Africa will be advantageous
  • Computer Literacy: MS Office advanced
  • Travelling to and within African countries if required
